We are looking for experienced systems engineers with Cloud and/or DevOps hands-on experience implementing and managing technical infrastructures.
Team members perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluate alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Participate in evaluation, design, and implementation of Cloud orchestration platform
Develop automation of systems provisioning/management and application deployment processes
Work directly with architects and developers to create supportable designs and debug problems.
Create infrastructure and architecture designs and implementation plans and guide the implementation with the operations team.
Continually improving existing designs and finding gaps.
Make decisions on problem mitigations in critical down time situations when escalation is impractical.
Script (BASH, Perl, Ruby) and build required automation (Puppet/Chef) and tools on an ad-hoc basis.
Create and deliver knowledge sharing presentations and documentation to developers and operations teams
Learning on the job and explore new technologies with little supervision.
Rotating on-call support of production infrastructure and applications and business hours support for development systems.
Success requires moderate to expert knowledge in most of the following areas:
Experience designing and implementing Cloud infrastructure in Openstack or, VMware vRA, AWS and/or Azure.
Experience with container orchestration systems with Docker and LXC and containerization
Experience implementing and managing private register and containers orchestration with tools such as Artifactory, Nexus, Docker Register
6+ years of experience with Linux and UNIX administration, specifically RHEL
2+ years of experience with automation frameworks and configuration management such as Cobbler/Puppet
2+ years of automation of systems provisioning/management and application deployment processes
Experience working with or implementing PaaS environments
Experience working cross functionally with other teams
Familiar with cloud infrastructure designs and implementations and guiding the process from development to operations
Most importantly, you should be a creative thinker and leader and be willing to work closely with developers and operations to enable both groups to create and deploy high quality applications faster.
Masters in IT field + 3 yrs related experience required
Certification required in multiple Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, VCP, Openstack, etc), as well as Redhat RHCSA and MS MSCE.
